Thames and Kosmos Master Detective Toolkit
Great success with 8 yr old grand daughter and this 70 yr old has enjoyed too! The various skills required to “detect" are cleverly developed sustaining interest over time. Definitely captured G. Ds imagination and she is involving her friends who would normally be gaming on tablets. Nice to find something that isn’t just mindless plastic.
Great gift
The case made it look really smart. My grandson was pleased to receive it.
Master Detective?
The whole premise behind this kit is brilliant and it was a very well received Christmas present for a 9 year old. However, the component parts were pretty basic and cheap (paper measuring tape? small plastic magnifying glass? etc). The fingerprint powder came in a ridiculously small quantity (this would probably be the most used item initially) and the kit, overall was really expensive. I augmented the supplies with pens, pencil, notebook, stickies, a compass and various other items to give more variety to the detecting tasks. For younger Detectives it's better with Parental or older sibling participation
Master Detective Set
I bought this item for my granddaughter aged 9 and she loves it. The present is now a week old and as soon as she gets home from school she is writing a crime scene report or taking your finger prints. It came very promptly and I highly recommend it.
