So an orange rod measures 10cm (plus it is handily marked off in 1cm segments). A white rod is 1 cm long and can be added on to the 10cm rod to illustrate 10 + 1, for example. Cuisenaire rods are ideal for addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, measurement, probability and statistics and these interconnecting rods are particularly suited to younger children.

I ordered the Cuisenaire rods after searching unsuccessfully for a reasonably priced set. Really pleased to find that BrightMinds have added this to their stock. Initially bought with maths homework support in mind, but my kids (5, 7 and 9) have been far more creative. The new 'favourite toy'. Lovely, brightly colour coded, wooden rods, with a booklet of suggested activities. The only improvement I can think of is for the kit to include a 10 x 10 storage tray, so that the rods could also be built within a hundred square. Great product.
Rods are fine quality bright and as I am familiar with using them serve my purpose to a point but usage very limited by the small number of ten rods which I need for place value
I bought these to help a couple of children at school with their maths. The rods are nice to handle and distinctively coloured.

Not seen product. However I am dyslexic and I had a set of these as an infant and I am convinced this is why I never struggled with maths. It helped me to see numbers as physical things with relationships to each other. Highly recomended!
