AMAZING CLOCK KIT
This was fun to do and works - took 3 hours with one adult and 6 yr old. The instructions could be clearer as it is EXTREMELY important to get the pieces in the correct way to start with as disassembling is almost impossible as the pieces are very fragile. But the clock is still working 2 months later.
Clock kid with two faults
My daughter and grandson carefully followed the assembly instructions but could not get the winder mechanism to work. I investigated and found that the ratchet wheel could not be pushed fully onto the wind-up crank. Careful use of a file in the hole of the ratchet wheel fixed that problem. I then found that the pendulum would not swing freely enough for the clock to work. On examining the “clear fork” (part 22) I found a tiny flap of plastic at the end. I cut that flap off and the clock now runs. The clock is well designed. The instructions are clear though I think most children would need an adult’s help to follow them. The pieces seem well made but the two I mentioned above were inadequately finished.
Time is Precious
Excellent quality. Excellent learning tool even for those not mechanically inclined. Easy to use instructions. My grandson loves it
Doesn’t seem to work
Have tried to put it together numerous times by numerous people(adults) and yet to make it tick for longer than 20 seconds. Is this usual as I have just found out that one I bought for another grandson a few years ago also failed to work properly and was thrown out in the end by parent . Have you had any other complaints about this item or have we just been unlucky twice
The Amazing Clock Kit review
I bought this gift for my 5 year old grandson for his birthday. He needed help to assemble the clock but he enjoyed helping with that and really likes the clock. I'm very pleased with my choice of gift. Very good customer service.
