This story takes the characters to a robotic pet shop where they encounter all sorts of cute robotic pets, including an owl, french bulldog, sloth, panda, chameleon, cat, turtle, and rabbit. As they follow the story, kids can build models of these eight robots and experiment with them to see how each one uses the battery-powered motor and mechanical parts to move in a different way. Large, cubic plastic building pieces make it easy for small hands to put the models together.

When my grandson opened his birthday present the motor didn’t work. So the present was useless

I brought this as a present to a special little person. What a great quality product, they loved it and built the dog immediately. The feed back from the recipient and parents was beautiful, both impressed and inspired.

These animal robots are fun to make. You can see how the mechanism works as you build it - cog wheels and cranks etc. The built robots do strange and amusing actions. Construction is quite difficult. My 6 year old grandson is adept at following lego instructions. These instructions are harder to follow, with a number of steps that have to be done in a specific order all shown in the same diagram. The most common part - the cube, with or without one joint sticking out of it - has to be in the correct orientation at the start. So he needed lots of help with the first model, and wanted me to build the second on my own. Still well worth it and something completely different from his other toys.
