GeoSafari Vega 360 Telescope helps your child to explore the wonders of the Universe. The all-glass optics and magnification ranges from 20x to 80x give clear, bright views of the Moon, the planets in our Solar System and the stars beyond. Investigate the Mare Crisium (Sea of Crises) or Crater Copernicus on the surface of the Moon, or explore the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter, or use the telescope to get a close-up view of remarkable things on Earth including birds and animals or distant landscapes.

The Geosafari Vega 360 telescope is an ideal first telescope for young astronomers. Lightweight and portable, with an aluminium optical tube and aluminium tripod, the telescope is easy to assemble and use.

The 50mm achromatic objective lens and rack and pinion focussing, together with one of the two eyepieces, gives either 20x or 40x magnification, and an erecting eyepiece for viewing terrestrial objects gives a further 2x magnification.

Contents:

  • Optical tube with rack and pinion focussing (pre-assembled)
  • Tripod with altazimuth mount (which allows vertical and horizontal rotation)
  • Diagonal mirror
  • 20mm eyepiece
  • 9mm eyepiece
  • 2x magnification erecting eyepiece (makes the image you see the correct way up)
  • Information booklet

Good quality telesccope

A sturdy product that my 8 year old grandson loves now that we have put it all together. I have only given it 4 stars because it took 2 adults quite a while to get all the parts in place. I can see no reason why this telescope could not have been sent out complete with no self assembly required except for perhaps connection to the tripod. It should also have been made clear on the box that you cannot see anything through the telescope unless you are focusing on something at a great distance.

Geo Safari Vega 360 Telescope

I haven't used it, as it is a Christmas present, but it looks very professional.

Arrived with missing parts

Very disappointed to receive this telescope. Ordered for my son's 11th birthday. Used the instructions to put this together and one locking nut was missing. This means that the whole telescope moves too much and doesn't hold in place. I purchased 4 items from Brightminds and ALL are disappointing. The magnetic dartboard has broken already, the lava lamp doesn't work properly, no proper instructions with the erasable memo pad and this telescope. I won't order again from Brightminds and I shall be returning all for a full refund. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Packaging is good, it's easy to assemble and a 6 year old can read the instructions and start using right away.
